Happy Thursday everyone! I hope the week is going well for you and only 1 more day until the weekend!! Today’s favorite is…
Black eyeshadow Too dramatic? I think not! I absolutely love the look of the deepest, darkest black smokey eye. I think this is so incredibly edgy and intimidating, but that’s why I like it so much. AND the great thing is, you only need 1 or 2 colors for this totally daring look.
For such a simple look, it is extremely versatile. From what products you use to the finish of the look, you can create something polished or edgy.
I absolutely love the glossy finish of this eye look. It looks super sexy and edgy and paired with a nude lip, your eyes are going to be the main attraction. I love how the darkness around the eyes also brings out your eye color and really makes them pop, no matter what shade they are!
Not digging the edginess? Go for a more polished look (above) by smoking out the crease of your eyelid with a grey and lining your lower water line with just a little hint of grey underneath.
If you like the look of the black, but it’s too much, try going for greys and deep browns to soften it up a bit like this:
This is still going to be very dark and dramatic look, but it won’t contrast so harshly with your skin and the whites of your eyes.
You can use all kinds of products to create a black smokey eye. If you don’t have a black eyeshadow, try a black eyeliner pencil. Draw a thick line at the upper lash line and smudge it out with your finger all the way to the crease, adding more eyeliner to increase the intensity of the shade. I would recommend for drugstore, Milani Liquif’eye metallic eyeliner pencil in “black” or for high-end, Urban Decay 24/7 glide-on eye pencil in “perversion.” Both of these pencils are super buttery and will glide on and smudge really easily.
Want to go a little more dramatic? Play around with the shape of your liner. Drag out your liner to the temples and bring your liner super low underneath your lower lash line. These are going to make for an intense look without having to deal with a bunch of different colors.
-Maybelline color tattoo “Audacious asphalt”: This is such a great metallic cream shadow. It is black with subtle hints of onyx and shimmer that are going to look amazing with a strong liner.
-MAC matte eyeshadow in “Carbon”: This is about as black as it gets. I love this shadow because it is extremely pigmented and very matte. This is the black of all blacks.
